Annual Road Safety – Caravan
2016 Road Safety Caravan will traverse Nairobi-Mai Mahiu -Naivasha- Gilgil-Nakuru- Salgaa section of the Northern Corridor. The key message emphasizes each road user personal responsibility in reducing road crashes and attendant outcomes. The theme is Usalama Barabarani ni Jukumu lako. Chukua Hatua! – call to action encouraging all road users to take personal responsibility to know and apply safer road user behaviour. The road show activities will include crowd sourcing through music and dance, road safety skits, demonstration by St John on First Aid for road crash victims, talk by police, road safety competitions and branded gifts and flyer distribution. The caravan has been supported by National Transport and Safety Authority, St John, Zusha passenger empowerment programme by George Town University and Kenya Police.
“Safe Way Right Way (Kenya)”
Safe Way Right Way is a road safety NGO focused on road safety actions on the Northern Corridor in Kenya. Our purpose is to mobilise private sector and carry out road safety programmes in tandem with the World Health Organisation’s Safe Systems Approach. Our charter principles are based on three pillars; self regulation, road safety community actions and advocacy.
