Gathering/Meeting, Unveiling of Memorial
“World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims”
“Let’s remember them with a smile” will be the theme of Kunhadi’s Remembrance Day in Lebanon. It will take place in the Road Traffic Victims Remembrance Garden – Sin El-Fil, which Kunhadi launched during the Remembrance Day in 2013, on November 20. Family members and friends will be invited to the inauguration of the third commemorating banner honoring the names of young men and women whose lives were lost on the road. Participants will be encouraged to share humorous and happy memories they have of their lost loved one to help remembering them with a smile and channeling grief towards awareness and change for a brighter future.
Kunhadi is a Lebanese non-governmental organization established in October 2006 after the fatal car crash of 18-year-old Hady Gebrane. The organization aims to introduce a new culture of safe driving habits and practices among the Lebanese community, notably youth aged between 15 – 29 years. Its work is founded on Education/Awareness, Improving infrastructure, Providing grieving parents with Moral Support and Training taxi and fleet drivers on defensive driving and the traffic law.
