Please tell us about your Event(s) / Organization
We are working with the government and other stakeholders to commemorate the day. ASIRT-Kenya is in the preparation committee that is led by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA). A road safety week was launched on 10th of November through a media breakfast spearheaded by the NTSA. Stakeholders will engage in several activities during the week including caravans, training, distribution of Wheelchairs to crash survivors, distribution of reflective jackets among other activities.
On Sunday the 16th, the activities will begin with a procession through the main streets of the capital city Nairobi. The procession will include road crash survivors, their family members, first responders, doctors, government officials, dignitaries and other stakeholders. The procession will lead to an event that will be officiated by the Cabinet secretary for transport where testimonies by crash survivors and family members, presentations and speeches by dignitaries and government officials will take place. Media will cover the events.
