Keep Our Streets Safe for Children, Philippines

MMDA Children's Road Safety Park Manila 1004 Philippines

Recognizing the need to provide special protection to children as some of the most vulnerable road users, the National Coalition for Child Road Traffic Injury Prevention (National Coalition), a multi-sectoral collaboration of government agencies, the academe, and organizations from the private sector and civil society, was formed in 2019 to work together to reduce child roads and injuries.
In the upcoming WDoR, the National Coalition—led by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and co-led by the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC), with secretariat support provided by non-government organization ImagineLaw, Inc. (ImagineLaw)—joins the Philippines in commemorating children whose lives have been claimed by road crashes and calls for child-specific interventions to protect them from road crashes. KEEP OUR STREETS SAFE FOR CHILDREN will be a mural featuring 1,670 children’s handprints calling to reclaim Philippine streets for their safety.
