Commemoration Day for Road Traffic Victims – November 17
On November 17, our school will join communities around the world in marking the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. This day is dedicated to honoring the memory of those who have lost their lives or have been injured on the road, as well as to raising awareness about responsibility, prevention, and respectful behavior on the road.
As part of this initiative, students from the 12th grade will accompany and mentor the youngest members of our school community — the 1st graders. Together, they will walk to a nearby pedestrian crossing, where the older students will share important messages about:
Road awareness and safe crossing
The dangers of speeding and distracted driving
The responsibility each person carries — whether a driver, passenger, cyclist, or pedestrian
This symbolic act reflects not only the passing of knowledge from one generation to another, but also the shared commitment to protect life.
To complete the ceremony, all students will place flowers on the pedestrian crossing — a silent gesture of remembrance, respect, and hope. These flowers stand for:
Lives lost
Lives forever changed
And the lives we aim to protect in the future
Through this meaningful act, we remind ourselves that safety is not simply a rule — it is care for one another, awareness of consequences, and a daily choice.
