🪽 White Paper Crane Memorial Walk
“May no person ever be deprived again of a peaceful, ordinary life by a traffic accident.”
Locations: Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung, Kaohsiung.
▌ Real Lives Lost, Not Just Numbers
In the year 2023, 3023 people lost their lives on the roads of Taiwan, with nearly 540,000 casualties in total..
“還路於民 VISION ZERO TW Association” invites concerned citizens from all over Taiwan to join us on a collective memorial walk, where we will carry electronic candles (provided on site), to mourn the victims of road accidents in Taiwan.
At the end of the walk, we will gather at various destinations across the country to observe a moment of silence for those who have lost their lives on the roads. We will fold white paper cranes, and share stories of the trauma and pain caused by the systemic violence in our transportation system.
